DC Lecture Liberates Someone From Bondage of Health Misinformation

The subtitle of my book is Freeing America from the Bondage of Health Misinformation. I love it when the lightbulb goes on in someone's brain and they see the light of truth.
Here is a recent email I got after a trip to Washington, DC, where I spoke to a Whole Foods meetup group: 
Message for Mr. Brown
Just wanted to say thank you so much for being there and communicating truth to my wife and I as well as the other interested people tonight. 
I would also like to point out that your briefing was AWESOME and I wouldn't change a thing.  
I loved exactly how you laid it out there and I learned SO MUCH.  I was not aware of many many things you enlightened us on and feel much wiser now than before.  
I plan to attend your next briefing which I believe is in a couple weeks in Reston and I will probably bring a friend and hopefully, my brother.  I am sure this will help 
improve our lives! Thank you very much! 
By the way, I weighed in this morning at 310 pounds.  I do have before pictures from 3 days ago and plan to do your diet.
I just found out recently about the Weston A Price foundation and am awaiting my first "real milk" order in over a year.  
The pieces are coming together.  I will probably have your book read and be ready for some supplements by the next meeting.  
I will forward you pictures in the future to use in your briefing because I could easily lose 100 pounds...

Cancer Survivor Loses Weight After Chemo and Steroids

Kevin, As you know, I had cancer in 1999. Fasting regularly may help prevent diabetes

A new mouse study suggests fasting every other day can help fend off diabetes and protect brain neurons as well as or better than either vigorous exercise or caloric restriction.

The findings also suggest that cutting down on the number of meals eaten daily can also be beneficial even if the animals gorged when they did eat, according to investigators at the National Institute on Aging (NIA).

"The implication of the new findings on the beneficial effects of regular fasting in laboratory animals is that their health may actually improve if the frequency of their meals is reduced," said Dr Mark Mattson, chief of the NIA's Laboratory of Neurosciences. He added that the finding needs to be explored further to gauge the full impact that meal-skipping may have on health.

In the study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences Online Early Edition, Mattson and his colleagues found mice that fasted every other day but were allowed to eat unlimited amounts on intervening days had lower blood glucose and insulin levels than either a control group, which was allowed to feed freely, or a calorically restricted group, which was fed 30 per cent fewer calories daily than the control group.

Despite fasting, the meal-skipping mice tended to gorge when provided with food so they did not eat fewer calories than the control group. This finding in mice suggests that meal-skipping improves glucose metabolism and may provide protection against diabetes, Dr Mattson said.

In the same study, mice on these three diets were given a neurotoxin called kainate, which damages nerve cells in a brain region called the hippocampus that is critical for learning and memory. (In humans, nerve cells in the hippocampus are destroyed by Alzheimer's disease). Dr Mattson's team found that nerve cells of the meal-skipping mice were more resistant to neurotoxin injury or death than nerve cells of the mice on either of the other diets.

Previous studies by Dr Mattson and his colleagues suggested that nerve cells in the brains of rodents on a meal-skipping diet are more resistant to dysfunction and death in experimental models of stroke and other neurological disorders including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Huntington's diseases. Dr Mattson also has found that meal-skipping diets can stimulate brain cells in mice to produce a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) that promotes the survival and growth of nerve cells.

The researchers are currently studying the effects of meal-skipping on the cardiovascular system in laboratory rats. The study compares the resting blood pressures and heart rates of rats that were fasted every other day for six months with rats allowed to eat unlimited amounts of food daily. Results are expected soon.

Hypoglycemics and diabetics can juice fast using slices of bananas and avocados to balance the blood sugar level.  Spirulina is also exceedingly beneficial for balancing blood sugar levels.The trick to balancing blood sugar levels is drink smaller amounts of juice timed 20 to 30 minutes apart. Fruit juices are better due to the fact that they have fructose a much slower release sugar than the glucose in carrots. But if you drink the juice slowly, your blood sugar levels can be maintained.

Media Executive Has Quick Success on The Liberation Diet

Dear Kevin:

What the?! It “had” to be something more than just eating only two meals in the day, resisting the urge to eat near bedtime but rather drinking 12 oz of Mangosteen water…yet the scale this morning showed 239.5 instead of the 245 it showed after my shower the preceding day.

    I finally managed to read The Liberation Diet. 

     
    It's brilliant! The book has a very strong Introduction and the use of The Matrix as an illustration was inspired. The writing style is also very easy to read for the layman and holds the interest; I wasn't bored with it once. In many ways it is a 'popular' version of my latest book, Trick and Treat: how 'healthy eating' is making us ill. We both blame the 'health industry', BigFood and BigPharma, and advise eating a more natural, largely meat-based diet.
    
    I loved The Liberation Diet. And although most of the content was known to me, I did learn things I hadn't known. Thank you for that education.
