Getting ‘Charged Up’ Again
About Each Other!
Dear Mr.
Brown,
As you
know, at the start of this New Year, my husband and I decided we needed to make
some major adjustments in our lives. We had put on a tremendous amount of
weight, were constantly tired, not getting our housework done and we were
eating for recreational purposes. Worse yet, our five year-old daughter
was beginning to pick up all of our bad habits.
One night
we were watching ‘The Biggest Loser’ and started talking about how we might
apply these theories in our lives. In the past, we have subscribed to a
wide variety of fad diets and exercise machines. Nothing was working and
even when we experienced short term results, the weight gain came on full-force
shortly thereafter. We realized we needed some solid guidance and support
to get through this. We decided there would be no more reading, no more
experimenting and certainly no more roller coaster effect!
We
searched the internet and were blessed to find you via Visionary
Trainers. Within 1 week, as you may recall, you had us both on a track
for a healthy and much more meaningful lifestyle. You patiently and
passionately took the time to explain your theories and systems to us in a way
that we could understand. Kevin, your plan makes sense. It is
designed around best human practices and practical concepts versus the modern
theories of substitute, replacement and deprivation. This is the
underlying reason it is working for us.
We have
been faithful to the Liberation Diet which is NOT a diet at all but about
making smart choices and understanding the source of our foods. Still, no
weight loss plan comes without exercise.
Our
personal trainer, Sherri, that you hand-picked for us through Visionary
Trainers has been coming to our home 3 times each week to educate us in proper
and results-oriented physical exercise. Sherri motivates us and keeps us
on our toes. She is someone we can no longer live without! There is
no greater motivation than a devoted and caring professional knocking at your
door at 5:30 in the morning to get you revved up for your day.
We also use the in-home cooking program provided by Liberation Wellness called Rachels Way. Rachel has helped us learn how to eat healthy and her service is so reasonable it is a no-brainer.
Within 3
weeks on this program, I lost 10 pounds (5.3% body weight) and my husband lost
15 pounds (6.5% body weight). I am now currently down 51 pounds! We are not tired but full of energy.
We are not agonizing over a diet and food deprivation but loving our meals and
feeling very fulfilled. We are not spending any more money on
this meal and exercise plan than we were before because we are not eating out
anymore. Instead we go out for activity and pure entertainment. People
are noticing the transformation and it feels great! We continue to lose
weight, our skin has better tone and our faces are rejuvenating.
Still,
there are so many other benefits to share. We now have energy to play
actively with our daughter rather than sending her to her play room or the
television. We are getting our housework done and then some. I
personally have been so energized and crisp at the office that my productivity
has increased by almost 25%. Whereas I was getting my work done within
the day before, I now find myself over producing and/or asking for more.
My husband and I are getting ‘charged’ up again about each other as we were
early in our marriage. Most importantly, we are now spending daily
quality time together. We are exercising, cooking, working on house
projects, etc. Our daughter is learning the system and excited about it.
She enjoys participating in our exercise regimen where she can. To put it
quite simply, we feel great, we are looking great and we are having FUN again!
Kevin, we
could never have pulled this off without you. We are so grateful for you
and this program. Thank you for giving us our lives back.
With much
fondness and gratitude,
Michele
Tate – Yardley PA.

Soy and Torture in America's Prisons!
Listen to this Recorded Show from the LiberationWellnessHour.
Prisoners in Illinois are on the receiving end of political payback in
the form of soy food. A legacy from the Blagojevich administration,
toxic levels of soy in the prison food are causing serious health
problems amongst the prisoners. A non-profit group has filed lawsuit on
the inmates' behalf. Sally Fallon, head of the WestonAPrice Foundation
explains the amazing story of Soy and its devastating effect on
prisoners in Illinois as well as the rest of America! Sally Fallon is
in our opinion THE LEADING NUTRITION EXPERT in America, so don't miss
this episode!

Hey, this is really fun, my publicist, Kimberly Hartke is doing a blog carnival about Natural Cures on her blog, Hartke Is Online. A blog carnival is a way for other people to share information on a blog, and get links back to their blog or website.
It builds traffic to your blog, is a great way to learn new things, and meet and make new cyberspace friends!
On March 31, the theme is exercise, see her post today about it, called Exercise at Your Own Risk. It has a hilarious video cartoon of a bear on a treadmill. I fell off my chair laughing!
Her blog carnival on the 7th of April is Diet, so get on the Liberation Diet and then go enter your story in the carnival! What a great way to spread the word.
These are the instructions about how to participate: Natural Cures Blog Carnival
Go for it!

Fasting regularly may help prevent diabetes
A new mouse study suggests fasting every other day can help fend off diabetes and protect brain neurons as well as or better than either vigorous exercise or caloric restriction.
The findings also suggest that cutting down on the number of meals eaten daily can also be beneficial even if the animals gorged when they did eat, according to investigators at the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
"The implication of the new findings on the beneficial effects of regular fasting in laboratory animals is that their health may actually improve if the frequency of their meals is reduced," said Dr Mark Mattson, chief of the NIA's Laboratory of Neurosciences. He added that the finding needs to be explored further to gauge the full impact that meal-skipping may have on health.
In the study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences Online Early Edition, Mattson and his colleagues found mice that fasted every other day but were allowed to eat unlimited amounts on intervening days had lower blood glucose and insulin levels than either a control group, which was allowed to feed freely, or a calorically restricted group, which was fed 30 per cent fewer calories daily than the control group.
Despite fasting, the meal-skipping mice tended to gorge when provided with food so they did not eat fewer calories than the control group. This finding in mice suggests that meal-skipping improves glucose metabolism and may provide protection against diabetes, Dr Mattson said.
In the same study, mice on these three diets were given a neurotoxin called kainate, which damages nerve cells in a brain region called the hippocampus that is critical for learning and memory. (In humans, nerve cells in the hippocampus are destroyed by Alzheimer's disease). Dr Mattson's team found that nerve cells of the meal-skipping mice were more resistant to neurotoxin injury or death than nerve cells of the mice on either of the other diets.
Previous studies by Dr Mattson and his colleagues suggested that nerve cells in the brains of rodents on a meal-skipping diet are more resistant to dysfunction and death in experimental models of stroke and other neurological disorders including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Huntington's diseases. Dr Mattson also has found that meal-skipping diets can stimulate brain cells in mice to produce a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) that promotes the survival and growth of nerve cells.
The researchers are currently studying the effects of meal-skipping on the cardiovascular system in laboratory rats. The study compares the resting blood pressures and heart rates of rats that were fasted every other day for six months with rats allowed to eat unlimited amounts of food daily. Results are expected soon.

Fasting Helps Hypoglycemia and DiabetesJanuary 6, 2008 | | by Tom Coghill of Fasting.ws
Hypoglycemics and diabetics can juice fast using slices of bananas and avocados to balance the blood sugar level. Spirulina is also exceedingly beneficial for balancing blood sugar levels. The trick to balancing blood sugar levels is drink smaller amounts of juice timed 20 to 30 minutes apart. Fruit juices are better due to the fact that they have fructose a much slower release sugar than the glucose in carrots. But if you drink the juice slowly, your blood sugar levels can be maintained.
